Hi,

BPH (benign prostatic hypertrophy) causes outflow obstruction to the urine. So there are back pressure changes in urinary bladder and kidney. So the possibility of cystitis and pyelonephritis are high when the patient is having BPH. And they can cause lower abdominal pain.

So better to consult a urologist and get done ultrasound examination of kidney ureter and bladder. You may need to operate for BPH to relieve the obstruction.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
